Vintage Cake Topper (and a wedding)

We were at a wedding this past weekend and the bride used her Mom and Dad's cake topper from their wedding 50 years ago! It was so cute!

The bride was, of course, gorgeous:

End of a Day

A Whale of a time, and a great day for a boat ride!

We had a perfect day for a boat ride with Mom and Dad: blue skies, warm temprature, and sites to be seen.  We headed down the Port Alberni Inlet for the Barkley Sound on the west side of Vancouver Island.

We were off to see if we could see a whale, and sure enough!

At first we thought it was an orca, but now we think it's a humpback

It was a lot of fun and the kids were exhausted (so were the rest of us!). 

Gone Fishin'

It's a dream vacation for hubby: fishing! And lots of fish!

The girls convinced Grandpa to give up a fishing day and take them on the boat to see some sea lions. Looks like we'll be going on a picnic later this week!
